One book per team. The same years for every book. And in each book, one new arrival — a player who was never there — changes the course of that team's history. Only that book's. The next book starts again from the real record, untouched.
Every book begins from a faithful copy of real basketball: the real seasons, the real standings, the real draft nights. A shared factual base, verified and sourced, sits underneath all of them and is never rewritten by the fiction. Each book keeps its own log of divergences — every change the arrival causes, traced to the chapter where it happens — so the real record and the story's record never blur into each other.
The era: the 2003–04 season through 2010–11, opening on the most famous draft night of its generation. First in line: an unexpected name called at that draft.
Status: in preparation. There are no chapters yet — the factual base is being built first, season by season. When the first book's opening is ready, its demo will land on this shelf.
